Julie Silverman
Julie Silverman has been practicing law since 2014 and has a track record of achieving wins for her clients. With both a litigation and transactional background, Julie anticipates legal risks and provides roadmaps to attain objectives while minimizing overall exposure. Rather than having a blanket approach, Julie takes time to understand each client’s goals in a transaction. Julie specializes in guiding clients from review to close to ensure that all questions are answered and each need has been satisfied. As no transaction is the same, Julie addresses any and all unique challenges and circumstances to ensure that each transaction goes smoothly.
Prior to founding Silverman Law, Julie practiced as a litigator at a national law firm defending regional hospital systems, medical professionals and international trucking companies. Julie also advised international insurance companies regarding their obligations to insure. Julie significantly reduced overall exposure to her clients and provided cost-effective resolutions.
Julie also has corporate experience as legal counsel for an international consulting firm. Julie drafted and negotiated multi-million-dollar partnership agreements. In order to meet the firm’s goals, Julie provided creative solutions to ensure mutually beneficial relationships between the firm and its clients.
Julie graduated from the DePaul University College of Law and was a recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for excellent achievement in the study of legal drafting. Julie is admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Julie is also a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar and Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. Julie also is a member of Caring Women's Connection, an organization focused on supporting women and children in Lake County, Illinois.
During her free time, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, and their three children, Cali, Easton and Riley. They love spending time outdoors and being on the water.
Don Carrillo
Don Carrillo is Of Counsel to Silverman Law, LLC and serves international, national and local businesses as both a legal advocate and corporate advisor. Don views every day as an opportunity to continue to earn his clients' trust by aggressively pursuing resolution of litigated matters and also by recommending key language for inclusion within his clients' contracts to facilitate deals and reduce liability exposure. As an advisor, Don works closely with his clients to understand their businesses and uses that knowledge to craft risk management programs that maintain his clients' core business principles. Don is immediately responsive to all client inquiries and understands that it is his responsibility to make the lives of clients easier by remaining in constant communication.
Before joining Silverman Law as Of Counsel, Don worked for a large defense firm where he represented clients in retail liability, product liability and construction litigation cases. Don has extensive experience in both the federal and state court systems and is licensed to practice law in the federal courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois in addition to the Illinois state bar. Don is also adept at resolving disputed issues for his clients in alternative dispute resolution mediums and has achieved successful results in mediations, arbitrations, and pre-trial settlement conferences.
